With the publication of the Archbishop’s Council budget for 2021 only a week before and the cancelation of the July sessions of General Synod this will be the first opportunity to hear at first hand from the Finance Chair of the Archbishops’ Council, Canon John Spence.

Deanery Briefing – Moving on from the Lockdown… the Social Justice Perspective with Jonathan Cox Registration Closed
As we emerge from this period of lockdown Deaneries are ideally placed with a key role to respond and engage with and support social justice initiatives in the communities they serve.
In this Second Deanery Briefing we will hear from Jonathan Cox, Deputy Director Citizen UK, about the partnership work they are doing with Deaneries. He will explore the opportunity for Deaneries to develop a cohesive and dynamic Community of Practice that will engage with communities to change and transform lives addressing issues that matter to them.
Jonathan Cox is Deputy Director Citizen UK and Lead Organiser for Citizens Cymru Wales
Jonathan began his organising career as Coordinator for the Independent Asylum Commission, which culminated in a nationwide campaign to end the detention of children for immigration purposes.
Alongside UK-wide work on migration, he has built alliances in Wandsworth and most recently in Wales, where he now lives with his wife and two children.

This is the third in a series of On-line briefings from the National Deaneries Network.
After coping with the effects of being isolated and, for many, changes to their jobs and financial situation or new working practices there seems to be a shift in the way folk view life. There seems to be a greater appreciation of the things that make life worth living.
The Covid-19 restrictions and the resulting lockdown has both constrained and provided new opportunities for our mission and ministry. Many churches and deaneries have been creative in the way they have provided worship and ministry that has touched folk far beyond their parish or deanery.
Lindsey will reflect on the theological perspective of the responsibility to be agents for engagement with the communities we have touched and are touching as we emerge into a new era of our mission and ministry after the Covid-19 limitations.
Dr Lindsey Hall is an Associate Tutor at The Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham and Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Lichfield. Before this she taught theology at Trinity College, Dublin, The Church of Ireland Theological College and King’s College, London.
