Bishop Graham leads on the Church of England\u2019s Environment Programme with a charge to lead bold, deliberate, collaborative action across the Church to tackle the grave existential crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Bishop Graham began life as an ecologist studying ecological science at the University of Edinburgh and is a keen beekeeper. He was appointed lead bishop on the Environment Programme in June 2021.<\/p>\n

He was previously a member of the Northumberland National Park Authority and chaired the Northeast Advisory Committee of the Forestry Committee. He is a keen beekeeper and is undertaking work to enhance the biodiversity of the historic Bishop\u2019s Gardens in Norwich.<\/p>\n

Every candidate that Bishop Graham confirms receives a hazel tree to plant as a nod to Mother Julian of Norwich, the 14th century mystic, who reflected on the glory of God as she held a hazelnut in the palm of her hand.<\/p>\n

He has written about spirituality and landscape in\u00a0Places of Enchantment, Meeting God in Landscapes<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, and his second book,\u00a0The Way Under Our Feet: A Spirituality of Walking<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Bishop Graham is married to Rachel, a GP, and they have two adult children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
